Grief and loss

This time last year, just as this lily plant was flowering, my brother in law and his partner were involved in a tragic and cruel motorbike accident which, nine days later, was to claim his life and rob my young nephews of their dad. It's hard not to relive the events of that night and the days that followed.
Tonight I'm reflecting on what a precious gift life and family is, especially as we witness so many tragedies occurring in our nation. Sad and difficult times but also so heartwarming to see the many genuine expressions of love, support and hope.
