Anything but Plain

We met Jane's sister (world in a grain of sand), brother in law, one of our nieces and great niece (I think that is right) at Lacock Abbey. A picnic was enjoyed even if the weather was a lot colder than yesterday's. Then a walk round the exhibition on Fox Talbot Museum; very interesting about the early developments in photography. There is also Travels with Michael Palin; breathtaking photographs taken by travelling companion Basil Pao.
These are on the lawns outside the Cloisters. They are a display of about 90 colourful six foot high flags, decorated with batik designs. These impressive banners have been created by women living in the villages and Army bases around Salisbury Plain. It is a project run by Circular Arts, called 'Anything But Plain, Darling!'.
