Well timed!

We returned to the "Ancient city" of Charroux; a small walled village beautifully preserved on the outskirts of Gannat.  A visit to the Museum of clocks previously in Public buildings was something not to be missed!  On three floors of this little town house are hundreds of clocks, all working, and all timed to chime within a couple of minutes of the hour.  We arrived at 11.55 a.m!  The oldest working clock dates back to 1542 (extra shows the workings)!  Incredible.    The Church has a replica of the Lourdes shrine.  Near the keep was  modern sculpture that could only be titled "heavy metal".  The other extras in the collage are just things that caught our eye as we strolled around.  36 again today.
Future Action plan - (1)exploring in the early morning, (2) early afternoon snooze,  (3) air-conditioned supermarket shopping in the heat of the afternoon!
Thank you for your very kind comments and stars.  We are trying to keep up with journals as much as possible.
