Marble AT104

I was looking for an abstract blip in Edinburgh city centre today.  Went to Chambers St Museum to collect some tickets and bumped into Edinimage, who was just uploading photos of the new Jacobite exhibition, which will no doubt be in the papers/news tomorrow.

Not sure if this photo counts as entirely abstract, or inside, but I thought I would blip it anyway.  It is inside in the sense that it is roofed and enclosed. This is one of the 104 (there's some synchrony!) different marble steps of The Scotsman Steps which connects North Bridge to Market Street next to Waverley Station. I use them frequently (usually only going down and not up) and always marvel at the unique patterns of each step. This one is special, though, with lovely ammonite and other fossils evident. The Steps were commissioned from Turner winning Scottish artist, Martin Creed, and the artwork is called Work 1059.
