After several days enduring what seemed like tropical conditions I eventually managed tp photograph the Water Shrew (top right).
As there have been a lot of insects buzzing round our pond, I thought I should include some. The hoverflies seem to like the lavender, and no sooner had I put this branch across the pond, hoping that birds would obligingly perch on it, this little spider ran along it and started producing strands which the wind carried across to the fern.

The hot weather has meant the pond water level has dropped significantly so I used my hose connections to top it up.
I hope the wildlife appreciates it.
