Midsummer

And Toby the beagle is very sensibly splashing in the stream. I wish Basil would do the same but the most he will dare is getting his feet wet while he takes a drink.

Toby was frolicking in the brook in Meadow Park, East Leake, on a very sultry Midsummer Day.

Basil enjoyed a good run along the drives swathed through the meadow grass which is being allowed to flower. I spotted blue gentian (extra) and a pink flower I couldn't identify.

Afterwards, a pot of tea and a meringue at Bryers before returning home to vegetate. 

Barbecued burgers and lamb chops with salad for supper.

 The air temperature began to drop after midnight, fortunately.
