Cooler

Now that we are past the longest day, the weather seems to have decided that summer is over, as it has turned distinctly cooler today, and rather dull.  The taxi drivers chatting to each other outside the station while waiting for customers were still in shirt sleeves, though.

On the subject of midsummer and the longest day, some of you may have seen a brief article in the PAGB's (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) e-news that has just come out, written by its Scottish editor, Rod Wheelans.  If you haven't seen it, it discusses some of the midsummer traditions of various nations, and is well worth looking at - the final sentence should make you laugh (particularly if you're a Scot).  You can see it here.
