Historic Moment

Today we bought The Land (hundreds of exclamation points).

The land we first looked at and loved on the 26th November last year, and this community has accompanied us through all the highs and lows of those seven months, so decided to show you the historic moment that Mike handed over the certified cheque to the former owner and his wife (in spite of a poor photo). The guy at the end of the table is the notary; think his grin was relief that we'd done it at last.

Of course, in true Portuguese fashion, it took a lot longer than that moment, and ended with us taking them out for a long lunch.

This afternoon, walked up there, and explored. Think I feel daunted more than anything. It's like when you spend nine months thinking the birth is the endpoint of a pregnancy, and then realising the work adventure has only just begun...
