972. Auction buy!

We had a very enjoyable morning at the local auction house yesterday and bought quite a few things...which will no doubt be Blip subjects over the coming days!
This brass plate which we think is Persian in origin was an unplanned purchase as we had seen it but didn't really consider it as a potential buy...but then it came up and we bought it for a whole £5...and having cleaned it up a bit it looks lovely in our lounge...a real bargain as it seems to be inlaid with copper and silver and has a lovely bird in the centre which I believe is a bird of paradise.


I'm early uploading this as I can't sleep and it was fun trying to take a photo with my phone in the dark!
