A Steadier Footing

motion negatives

shooting on 16mm motion film can be fun. that is what i am learning how to do in one of my classes. today we had an editing lab where we were shown how to prepare and edit film for exhibition. not entirely new to me but always interesting, especially handing all the equipment that is still used today and has hardly changed in the decades it's been around.

got my own film back on Monday that i shot for my 'Project #1'. it had to be a character study that was not to be edited so had to be shot for continuity. i decided to go kind of abstract. i tried transferring it to digital using and ELMO machine and it produced sub-par results. the quality of the actual film when projected is a hundred-fold better, but if you're interested, i uploaded it to vimeo here.
