Pair

June Photo - Day 23 - Pair

A pair of bills (bank notes) that were in Prentice Tyndall's wallet when he drown 40 years ago tomorrow.  (June 24th 1977)

Kent's dad was fishing in a johnboat without a life jacket and unable to swim.  He was running down the river at a high rate of speed when he hit a
submerged log and both he and Bennie were thrown from the boat.  Bennie was lucky to survive but Prentice was not so lucky.  Kent was 17 at the time.

The collage in extras shows a cushion that a friend made - 1 of 6 she did - made from the ribbons that were with the flowers at the funeral.  Kind of gives you an idea of the number of flowers there must have been!

The photo of Prentice was taken approximately 3 months before his death and the pocket knife is one that was in his pocket when he drown.

Kent was pulling out all kinds of things from the days of his mum & dad last night and it was nice to hear him talking about it all.  I've heard it all before, but that doesn't matter.  They are family history stories and important to remember.

It's Friday and I'm about to walk out the door to go have lunch with Birgit.  Let's see how much of the world we can put to rights!

Happy Weekend Everyone
