Courgette

A male courgette flower flopping onto an almost ready to harvest courgette below. It looks somewhat exhausted, although other than growing flamboyantly large the male flowers don't seem to do much. But they have a voluptuous texture which is quite unplant-like, in a way. The courgettes are just starting to fruit now and in a week or so it'll be courgette recipes as often as possible, until we get fed up with them... But they do taste way better than any you can buy.

The ants are probably farming blackfly which are having a bit of a population explosion at the moment. I'll have to watch them as they're quite capable of draining the energy out of their chosen hosts.
