FlowerFriday23 Sunshine and sunflowers II

The heatwave is definitely on its way out but today was still warm and mostly sunny.  I bought these very cheerful sunflowers yesterday and took them out to the garden to take a shot for today's FF challenge.  Thanks as always to BikerBear for continuing to host her challenge. 
My alternative flower (Violet) was not at her sparkling best when she arrived this morning.  She allowed me to do her 'manicure' well enough  but when we arrived at Tumble Tots she was not feeling quite so cooperative: half way round she really didn't want to take part, so we brought her home.  She was complaining of a headache and it remains to be seen whether that is another cold on its way, or just the excessive heat this past week.
Late afternoon we popped out to Connaught Water where Violet enjoyed an ice cream ( see extra) and I took some very average photos.  I managed to go out during the only really cloudy part of the afternoon, when the light was poor, for photography at least.  Added to that, the ducks refused to let any of their ducklings get anywhere near enough to us for a decent shot.  Oh well, some days are like that!
