A train with style!!
The Flying Scotsman stopped at out village station this morning on it's way from Scarborough to London, via York and Lincoln. We had the benefit of a 10 minute stop whilst it took on water. There were lots of people of all ages there, a real treat.
I've put some pics in extras.
Update on R. She is still in hospital, thankfully hasn't been transferred to Doncaster, but to another ward in Worksop Hospital. We went through to see her this afternoon and hear what has been happening.
Her temperature spiked last night so they started IV antibiotics. Fortunately she still had a cannula in, but that ran into the tissues and they had to re-site it. She has dreadful veins, almost non existent, and after a few botched attempts a paediatric registrar was recruited to do the job. He's an expert at getting needles into tiny babies. Cannula in and blood samples out .....job well done at 1.30am!!
She was in a side room in the new ward and not very happy when we arrived. A bit isolated, no fluids and very hot, but we got her sorted out and in a much better state by the time we left 2 hrs later.
The original plan was for her to be in overnight on Thursday and home yesterday morning, but it was all more complicated than expected. She is doing well considering everything, but I think that she will be there until Monday morning as they are unlikely to have the medication she needs to take home until then.
