Once a field

Not so long ago this large area of water was farm land as can be seen from the fence that used to divide the fields.

At first the farmer used to pump out flood water but eventually nature won and it is now a haven for swans, ducks and other water loving birds.

It has been a day of intermittent sunshine and unpleasant blustery winds but again the evening sun has lit up the countryside. I am loving all the shades of green at the moment.
