Post and trees

This place reminded me a bit of a story in one Alan Garner's books (The Owl Service) about a standing stone(the Stone of Gronw: http://mabilexicon.tumblr.com/post/40039959399/the-stone-of-gronw) that was pierced by a spear during a feud between two Welsh warriors. 

OK, it's a fence post, not a monolith - give me a bit of artistic licence; it didn't happen here but it could have.
