Here we go loop-de-loop . . .
. . . back down to Waikiki to check on the King-tides. Decided I would go first to Ala Moana beach park, which I just drove in and out of as I could not find a single parking space in the whole area! Looked like the water was just slightly elevated against the wall, but forgot to look at the beach side! duh! Found a parking space in Waikiki and walked down to check out the gazebo on the pier and the low wall parallel to the beach. The wash of waves on the beach was up to grass area at times. Then walked back along the route of yesterday to make a comparison. Thought yesterday was slightly better. However, the flooding in Mapunapuna was high, as was yesterday. These fotos just show the exhilaration of the waves, and not the destruction.
The boat ramp was a little more cresting than yesterday.
Couldn't resist a few more extras:
1. This is the wall, parallel to a section of beach, providing a safe swimming area. The water pretty much covered the wall and came over in sliding waves. This gorgeous colour reminds me of an under petticoat.
2. Whoosh!
3. Looking towards the gazebo pier, with waves bringing sand onto the walkway.
