How to keep your local library

As in most counties, Staffordshire CC has had to cut back with the result that many local libraries, including ours, were threatened with closure.  Here, in Shenstone, the villagers desperately wanted to retain their library so an arrangement has been reached with the CC whereby the County will still provide the books but the library is now staffed by local volunteers and the enterprise is being funded by opening up a coffee shop, also run by volunteers, within the library.
