Casey Key

We took a drive today down to Casey Key, only about an hour from our home. We had never been there before; there is so much for us to explore in Florida. We drove down the most charming tiny road - Casey Key Rd where we could see water on either side of us (it is a barrier island). This photo is when we were on Nokomis Beach, taken right before it started to rain! (large) Yes, we could certainly see the rain coming so we did not stay long -we were just checking it out. We will return next month to celebrate October 25th: the day I called Steven on the phone 8 years ago to say hello again as it had been a few years. I hoped to talk about his divorce which I had just found out about from our friend Garth and also my impending divorce. Both of our spouses left us so we had much in common besides being old friends. Little did we know that just 3 weeks later we would be planning on marrying each other in June!

So now we celebrate 2 anniversaries, one when we started talking on the phone and emailing each other 10 times a day, catching up and commiserating and falling in love, and two, the day we got married. Steven told my dad the day after the wedding, "Dale -this is where we go to from here" - following up on that question my dad asked us the previous November, when meeting Steven for the first time and hearing our story! hee hee . . . lovely memories.
