Summer In The City

It's a glorious day in Boston, with clear blue, cloudless skies and bright sunshine.  Looking out the windows of our apartment, I could see three different pools -- one is at a neighbouring condo building, and this is the first time I've seen anyone using it -- today it has attracted quite a number of swimmers.  The second is a little paddling pool on a rooftop terrace of the building across the street from us.  Most of the owners of these terraces have opted for low maintenance Astro-Turf, but this particular one has real grass ... it's looking quite prairie-like right now, and really could use a mowing, although how that would be accomplished easily is anyone's guess!  The third is in the same building as the (other) paddling pool, but this time we get to witness some extremely rude people who actually live in the apartment next door to this one.  Apparently the owners must be away for an extended period, because these people just cross over the barrier between their place and this one, and use their neighbour's outdoor space as if it were their own!  Their dog goes to the bathroom on the Astro-turf, and now today these clowns have acquired a large paddling pool which they have set up to lounge in for the afternoon.  I wonder how they plan to drain all that water when they're finished????
