Past it's best

been a bit grumpy today - don't know why - its probably because yesterday I did a good tidying stint in the garden & by the evening my feet were killing me ! So today I have had to take it easy ...

Wandered around the garden with the camera looking for a subject.. ... I could hear a Green Woodpecker chirping away very close by, but despite a good look around couldn't find him. After a while I had a chat with S next door & it was then I spotted it in the playing field at the back of S's garden. He offered to have a go with the camera but only the fence was in focus.....I somehow got over the fence and managed a couple of shots which were little better despite using manual focus...after a few seconds he flew down on to the ground out of sight...Decided not to brave the fence on the return so went home the long way..

This rose is located at the very bottom of our garden & it only gets seen every now & again. You could say its a little bit ignored. However today I took this of the last flower going over ..It may yet come back again as I have dead headed it now ...

A pleasant dry day but windy
