The sound of thunder...

...in a pencil drawing.

I started this drawing yesterday (from a thunderstorm the other day and here is a link to my written description of it https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2324259765795947608 ) and then I could not find it later in the day to finish. I found it first thing this morning in the middle of a table.....???

So I finished it!

The thunderstorm was very close, literally around me. It felt you could touch it.

This is the first time I had heard a thunderstorm with this cochlear remapping. Previously I only ever heard a muffled sound with the previous mappings on the processor, and prior to the cochlear implant I was only aware of the noise of thunderstorms by placing my hands on glass window panes. So, my experience of thunderstorms was vibrations, and obviously the visual effects of lighting...which can be pretty good here if I go to the end of the road and look down the hill towards the river, and over the Wirral.

I knew a thunderstorm was happening as a very small child (I was born profoundly deaf) because my mother turned all mirrors to the wall, unplugged the iron and other devices...so that was my cue to crawl and toddle to the French windows, and put my hands on the glass to feel the thunderstorm.

So, this is my picture for today for my challenge to myself of a pic every day in 2017.
