Tarting up the poorly taken image...
When I was walking in the dunes this morning I noted that one of my favourite wild flowers had begun to appear - the Vipers Bugloss. They usually attract vast numbers of Six Spotted Burnet Moths but this flower had but one visitor.
Unfortunately I took this shot with a small aperture so the plant and of the background were all in sharp focus. Given that there were numerous dead grasses around this made for a very complex and distracting image so ~I decided the reduce the effect of the background using the gaussian blur filter and darkening it down. It's a pretty crude method of highlighting the main subject but it does make the best of a bad job....
