One Street

Yesterday, after my tour at Speke Hall, we went to Lymm expecting to see the Lymm Vintage Transport event. Somehow we had got our dates mixed up and the event was not until today Sunday. However many of the narrowboats and steam engines had already arrived and so we were able to see them without all the crowds. We also visited the newly opened Lymm Heritage Centre, small but perfectly formed. The opening exhibition was about the heyday of cycling in and around Lymm. It was very well done.

After bellringing this morning we headed back to Lymm. Unfortunately it was raining. We did not go to the field where there were about 200 exhibits but stayed around the canal as there was lots to see there.

Later in the afternoon I headed back out on to One Street, aka The Bridgewater Canal, in the hope of seeing some of the working boats as they headed for home. As you can see the weather was much improved by then.
