Summer Sunday Evening - Princes St

I am rarely in Edinburgh on a Sunday evening but some time ago I agreed to address a small group of distinguished academics from across Europe who were starting a three day conference in the city considering European integration & Brexit.

It was a pleasant event with well informed questions and as I was leaving the Balmoral where the reception was held I paused to capture the sunlight on Ramsay Gardens and the black bulk of the Scott Monument beside a quieter than normal Princes St.
