Spider warning!

Leave this journal now if you don't like spiders! If you do like them, you might like it LARGE.

I found this Whitetail Spider in my shower this morning, so after photographing it in the shower (too much dust from my bathroom renovations!) I moved it outside in a glass jar. The speckled background is the piece of cardboard I used to catch it. I then relocated it to the garden - no doubt it will make it's way back into the house at some point.

Whitetails are common both here and in New Zealand (another uninvited Aussie native that somehow ended up over there) and their bite is apparently very nasty (though not lethal). They have a horrible habit of getting in your washing and nicely folded clothes, just ready to bite you when you put your trousers on...
