And So It Begins...

The thunder and lightening rolled in around 5:30 but there wasn't a drop in sight. Ninety minutes later, I heard the familiar pounding of a monsoon rain - the first of the year.  It was glorious.  Just before sunset, the sun broke through and shone brightly over the tops of the ocotillo, brilliantly lit up the palms in the distance and formed the first rainbow of the year.  The rain dropped the temperature a good fifteen degrees and the air smelled fresh and clean.

I love the monsoon!!!
