Not my 15 minutes of fame...

...think that's yet to come... but Penistone's...
After Le Grand Depart in 2014, the organising team in Yorkshire decided we could continue to do bigger and better biking events, and set up our very own Le Tour de Yorkshire in 2015. In turn this event was so successful that it has been staged annually ever since, and it highlights the wonderful countryside across the county ( not to mention the challenging hills such as the Cotes de Midhopestones and Wigtwizzle... ). In April 2017 it was Penistone's turn to shine in the limelight ;)) Some of the bunting and decorative bikes are still in evidence, the turnout to support was high and the race featured prominently in the local papers and on local news.
Thanks to Dollykgray for hosting this month - apparently it's my turn in July ( I thought it was September... oops... ), so for Monday 3rd I'm suggesting "Shadows" as the theme - tag MM180 ;)
