Confetti in the Landscape
We left home just before lunch-time and drove to Elmley Castle, then walked from there to the top of Bredon Hill. We wanted to show D&D (from Edinburgh) that we have some decent hills too.
We sat on the summit and ate our picnic, then returned back to the car again - having to make a small detour as a herd of cows was by now in the path of where we wanted to descend.
In the lower centre of the shot you may be able to see some red and pink and dark blue stripes. These are the fields of delphiniums just outside Pershore. The petals will soon be picked and dried and used to make natural confetti.
There is a fabulous 360 degree view from up there, and in this direction you can see across Worcestershire to the Malvern Hills.
It seemed most peculiar, not working on a Monday, as though I was playing truant.
