Miss C

Another busy day today! There doesn't seem to be any other kind at the moment!
It was the transition day at Miss E's school where everyone has a day in the year they're moving into in September. Miss E was very excited about a day in Year 5.
Year 5????? How on earth did that happen? Surely she's just started school and can't possibly be about to start Year 5!!!!
Miss L was all set to spend the day in Year 3 so she can decide whether or not she wants to move schools.
As bad luck would have it Sports Day at her current school was scheduled for today so she didn't get to spend the whole day at her potential new school. She's still undecided about what she wants to do - and, yes I know we're the adults and schooling is a decision we should make rather than a seven year old child, but the desire to move was instigated by her, we're happy with either school and it would be completely counter-productive to force her to move to a school where she doesn't want to be so she needs to come to it on her own - so it would have been so helpful for her to spend the day with her actual new teacher, in the actual classroom with her actual classmates.
Sports Day was fabulous. I got a little bit over excited when Miss L won the obstacle race as it's not something that's ever happened before!!!
I felt as if she'd won Olympic Gold. Just brilliant!!!!!!
I was also very proud during the hurdle race when her friend in the lane next to her tripped and fell over one of the hurdles and Miss L stopped to check she was OK.
A gifted obstacle racer and compassionate too!!!
My mum and dad came and it was lovely to introduce them to Miss C.
There was just time to stuff my face at the tasty buffet before collecting Miss L from her lunch and taking her to Miss E's school.
Miss T and Mr K went to Bletchley Park which made me laugh as I've been meaning to go there for years and they've managed it having only been here for a few days!
After dropping Miss L off I came home and enjoyed a blissful couple of hours peace and quiet. Nowhere to be, no-one to talk to; just me, the sofa, several cups of tea and the TV. Perfect!
All too soon it was time to get back to school for the Meet the Teacher's Tea.
Miss L had a lovely afternoon apparently and it was nice chatting to her teacher.
As I drank my Prosecco, chatted to other mums, and spoke to several teachers about both the Little Misses I couldn't help but hope Miss L can be persuaded to make the decision to move. It feels like the better school.
When I asked her how her afternoon had been she was gushing about how brilliant it had been.
Yay.
Then she said she didn't want to move.
Sigh.
Then later she told Miss E that there were more reasons for moving than staying.
Hopeful!!
After her taster day in Year 3 at her current school next week we will be making a decision.
Wish us luck!!!!!
