Sea trials begin today.
During my career I visited Rosyth Dockyard a number of times. I was given the mug as a gift after a meeting one day - recently they've been working on HMS Queen Elizabeth, the biggest warship the Navy has ever had built. Built in modular form around the U.K. it has been assembled in Fife in specially built facilities. Today it left the dockyard through a tight sea lock, and later tonight it will pass under the three Forth Bridges, (clearing them by a few metres). It has a crew of 1000, 4 acres of flight deck and is some 65000 tonnes. Sister ship HM Prince of Wales is under construction and due to launch in 2020.
