That Darn-ley castle

Scotland has castles, castles everywhere. I had heard of Crookston Castle but had never come across it until today when I was driving past and did a double take.
It is a cool building with an interesting history. It was owned by the Stewarts of Darnley for centuries and one story goes that Mary Queen of Scots and Lord Darnley were engaged beneath a yew tree in the castle grounds.
In 1931 it became the first property to be acquired by the National Trust for Scotland.
And I used to think Crookston was so called because it was full of crooks!!
