Vive la Vie

And we're off!

A year of planning finally became reality today.
Brussels to New York to Vancouver.
Everything went smoothly, although we were slightly surprised at the level of interrogation at JFK airport in New York. They didn't seem too pleased that we had once lived in a country that borders Yemen. It seemed slightly ridiculous especially as we were only in transit and weren't even leaving the airport. It didn't really help when Dexter asked how big bomb explosions were or when he insisted on looking for Donald Trump in the airport!

The kids were as good as gold on the 8 hour flight between Brussels and New York, mainly because of the unlimited screen time with the little TVs in the seats! That's probably going to be one of the highlights of the holiday for them! Actually They were fab as they opted to sit next to each other (we had two seats of two) and Olivia really looked after her little brother making sure he always had his seat belt on and helping him with his food. They also selected the same movies to watch and started them at the same time which was cute.

The flight to Vancouver took just over five hours, and we all snoozed on this one. We arrived at 10pm (7am Brussels time), went straight to an airport hotel and went to bed. With any luck we may not suffer from any jet lag!
