A forest of hogweed

Heracleum spondylium - Common Hogweed, Cow Parsnip
These huge specimens (at least 1.5 meters high) are flowering along the roadside of the A4 just before The Hague. I captured them from the car while we were in a traffic queue on our way to bring son no 1 to Schiphol. He's on his way to Singapore and his first job now. The circle is round with that with a great grandfather who went there for his first job almost a century ago, a grandfather who was born there and a father who worked there twice :-)
How things have changed though, communication wise, we'll be able to see and talk to him through all these modern media and we'll see him in a month when DJ needs to go back to Singapore for work.

The wild flowers are for Wild Wednesday with thanks to Cailleach for hosting. Remember that tomorrow's optional Abstract Thursday is 'travel' and the tag will be AT105

Thanks so much for your comments, compliments and stars for my elephant hanger :-)
