Dodging the showers in Riga
The day started with a trip to the central market. This was housed in some old Zeppelin sheds and well worth seeing. Stalls full of Stawberries and Cherries lined the way to the sheds. Inside an amazing array of fresh, smoked and dried fish plus a huge variety of meat and veg.
We then moved on to the old town with a mix of old and rebuilt buldings. This is the House of Blackheads which was built in the 14th century to house a guild of unmarried merchants. It suffered badly in World War Two before being restored in 1999 as a precise copy.
Not sure if I will keep up with journals so may just pop in with a star or heart.
