Weaving Looms
These weaving looms are part of Quarry Bank Mill. Our visit brought back many memories as my Mum was a Weaver and I used to sneak into the mill to see her, much to her strong disapproval due to the dangers involved. The noise was horrendous but there were no ear defenders (not yet invented) and all the Weavers used to have their conversations by lip reading. No wonder most of them were deaf in old age.
