The Office

On our visit to Quarry Bank Mill (N.T. Stockport) today - this view of the office took me back in time.
When I left school (many, many years ago) I worked in an office just like this.  There were two of us and we had tall chairs like these and a big, solid desk just like the one in the blip.
Ledgers were  large books - the size of the ones in the blip, and I had the Wages Book of similar proportions.
No adding machines, most certainly no computers - positively Dickensian :-)
