Back from fishing.........

Mallaig is still a busy fishing port, but nothing like it used to be. In the 70s an amazing amount of fish were taken from the sea. So much so, stocks were depleted. This led to the collapse of much of the fishing trade and loss of jobs.

The port is used effectively for ferries taking people and cargo to the islands. We had a wet and windy crossing to South Uist! The start of our Hebridean trip.
