Broad beans!

These are sweet peas in the totally soaking garden.  

But after nursery we were able to finally get some broad beans harvested in an even more sodden allotment.  It's a mercifully short season, given how inefficient and labour intensive they are.  But they are delicious.  

One giant sack resulted in a smallish bowlful, but luckily I had my lovely assistant (the extra).  That might be the first time she has actually been a proper help. 

Late night trip to the airport on the tram to pick up a visitor lies ahead....
