Sir Archie needs love and attention

Strict instructions from Archie's loving parents, "No People Food!" and "Don't' feed Archie from the table!"

Sir Archie is well-aware of the well-meant rules.

Since the arrival in his home two days ago of the couple charged with his care and safety for the coming two weeks, Kit and Frances Rushing, retired university professors, Sir Archie has become aware too of the contents of the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King's famous civil rights essay, "Letter from a Birmingham Jail." In that famous writing, the Rev. Dr. King argues that unjust laws must be protested, they must not be obeyed, they must be changed!

Sir Archie in the accompanying photograph, with baleful eyes, and sad countenance, is certainly protesting to Anne Rushing the unfairness, the unjustness of his household rules concerning people food and eating at or under the table.

I'm certain that this staunch defender of the rights of dog, will continue his balefulness until his view of justice is served... perhaps with hot buttermilk biscuits, thick milk gravy, and warm Tennessee country ham.

Keep smilin'
