Black Beans?

I picked this seed pod off a bush down the park at the weekend as it was a pretty red and green colour, but today it burst open revealing these strange shiny black seeds that remind me of . . . . .

No idea what they are - I might try and grow them in the spring!

Just got in from rehearsals so very tired - will try and catch up tomorrow.
