Duck
I know it's been a while, and it may be sometime before the next blip. I've been working full time - and because it's a course I haven't taught before, it's actually been full time plus for the past 9 weeks. One week to go ... I am hoping all my students pass and are able to take up their offers for ANU. Some of them have worked extremely hard - others not so much. Then it's back to unemployment (well, actually semi-retirement) for me.
Of course, full time work has its benefits. The travel fund is topped up and soon the serious planning will start for my Grand Tour next year. The Antarctic cruise is booked, but I'm still working out the rest. The second big plus is that I've been able to splash out and buy myself a new camera. On the advice of family members, and in the hope that I can borrow kit from them, I'm now a Canon person.
So, I picked up the camera yesterday - very exciting. Battery charged, new SD card, and then I had to think where to go to use it. I finally settled on Jerrabomberra wetlands, where I took this amazing photo of a duck. :)
As well as assorted birds, I spotted some kangaroos, and a couple of rather unwelcome foreign visitors in the form of a rabbit and a fox. Now I've got six months to learn how to use the camera ...
