Back in the Lakes

For our honeymoon, she packed for Venice. The clue she had been given (not by me) is that there was lots of water. Half way up the M40, I think she twigged it wasn't going to be Venice. Personally, I think it was a ruse just to buy a new wardrobe!

Turns out, she loved the Lakes and we went back to the same place every year until there were too many kids for any one relative to look after!

22 years later, we're back on the same terrace with a repeat of a honeymoon shot, overlooking Lake Windermere. A lot of trees have grown up so not so much of the lake was visible now, but just as picturesque.

PS - The most wonderful of family run hotels, called the Lindthwaite House Hotel, well worth a pamper, although you'll need two credit cards nowadays.
