ENTRANCE TO CUNINGAR LOOP

This artwork is a six-metre high stainless steel structure which has been erected at the main entrance to the Cuningar Loop Woodland Park in Rutherglen, south east Glasgow.
‘Evolve’ is the final piece of artwork created by Rob Mulholland and represents the transformation of the site from derelict land to a fantastic asset that is already proving to be a popular visitor attraction.
Rob has been the artist-in-residence at Cuningar over the past two years, working closely with local community groups from Rutherglen, Dalmarnock and Bridgeton to create a series of sculptures and installations that are dotted throughout the park. He said: “When I spoke to people from the area it became apparent that they wanted a sculpture which could convey the feeling of change and development but would also represent a bright future, which I think Evolve delivers.
I think it does too. A and I cycled here -in the rain- great fun!
