Waiting in the Wings
Busy day for Ruby.
We dropped her off at Northern Ballet at 11.30. Then Rebecca and myself did a little bit of shopping in Leeds then went for the most divine lunch ar Cau, it had been recommended to my daughter and we were not disappointed, we were drooling.
Then the highlight of my day: to watch her end of year performance along with the other intermediate foundation students.
A really stripped back performance, no fancy costumes, no props, just pure dance.
What talent .
So that ends her second year there and now comes the welcome break until September when she moves up to foundation.
No rest for Ruby though.
She is attending the International Summer School at Northern Ballet for a week, then joining The Youth Ballet of Great Britain
In August to board at Elmhurst then perform in Birmingham, and in September she will dance at The Sadler Wells Theatre in London.
We jumped into the car and drove to Skipton where she attends her classes at the dance school she has attended since she was three.
This time for Ruby to rehearse for the end of year concert to be held next Saturday.
Rebecca sewed sequins and l added ribbons and buttons to some costumes while we waited.
Verity was already there so we could watch both girls.
I only got my camera out once and took the shots I've put into the collage as an extra.
Hard to take photographs to not include others as l wouldn't publish photographs of other children without permission, so l've done a lot of cropping.
Earlier no photographs were allowed in the theatre but just before we took our seats we saw Ruby three floors up...waiting.
