I wonder ........

I am not familiar with this small insect; could it be a Katydid? It was on a rose leaf which looks like it has been badly damaged....I first saw it on a rose bud that also looked like something had eaten some holes in it. So, I wonder if this insect is responsible. It is a really striking insect so I think someone will know it identity for sure. Thanks.
I am still at home and I thought I would get this posted before I leave; I hope the traffic will be gone by now. I will let you know tomorrow.
