the view and the outlook

Of broken plates and coffee cups
Of marbles and tiny stones
The backsplash of our sink is made
In a rainbow's hues and tones.

Of shopping lists and things to do
Of what ifs and when's and whys
The broadcast of my mind it scatters
When hands o'er sink do fly.

Of rolling shelves and lined up plates
Of dishes tossed inside
The dream of a washer? Oh, It fades,
When budget and renovation collide.
