Hong Kong SAR day

Today is 20 years since handover of Hong Kong from British to Chinese rule. And there were lots of decorations/events happening around town. Here's a display outside the HSBC main building opposite Statue Square.

Carrie Lam has also been sworn in as Hong Kong's first female Chief Executive, quite historical in itself.

Later in the day, we joined friends at the tables in the Plaza while a terrific storm passed and left us a little wet! We stayed and enjoyed it as it was warm-ish rain, so not too inconvenient.
