Spray or pay

Had arranged to meet D outside a nearby bar to sign the contract to rent a parking space. Arrived just before the bar opened while they were still setting up the tables and chairs outside.

The bar had just increased the number of tables they are permitted to place outside by the ayuntamiento (council) and hence had obtained some extra parasols to go with the extra tables..

The council charges bars for the space to place their outside tables and chairs. They are very strict about what furniture the bars can erect and where.  Fines for non-compliance are a nice little earner.

So one of the rules is that furniture must not display any advertising. Hence  the manager was spray-painting over the advertising.

Anyhow, contract signed and a nice chat with D over a beer. Must spend more sunny Sunday mornings sat on the terrace here.

Now I need to try parking in the new garage space. I want to check whether it has any of those over affectionate pillars that like to rub themselves along the sides of cars.
