Yes, another site photo, this time of the ground floor entry (the former State Shopping Block, 1929).
I could bore you with facts like the buttons for the lift are fringed with 22 and 24 carat gold leaf and that everybody was very excited to discover the original flooring under whatever godawful vinyl had been laid over, but I think it's much more cool to know that the lifts play different music depending on how many people are standing in them at the time.
If there's only one person, it might play you "Only the Lonely." Allegedly (I haven't been in the lift by myself as yet).
When we stepped out out of the lift to leave today, we got a "May the Force Be With You." That in itself is probably worth riding the lifts for. :-)
